It was built in 1986 from the idea of Kasem Kasemkiartisakul at the ratio of 1:25 of the originals. Significant Thai buildings such as the Phra Sri Rattanasasadarm Temple, the Victory Monument, the Bridge over the River Kwae, Phraram 9 Bridge, and the Phimai Stone Sanctuary are also displayed here. In addition, there are also miniatures of famous European and American buildings such as the Eiffel Tower, the Tower Bridge, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Statue of Liberty, and the Grand Canyon. Wat Photisamphan

Situated in the heart of Chonburi province, Wat Photisamphan is a temple with magnificent stucco. It is also a home to Luang Pho Na Lan Ta, a stone Buddha image and Phra Sang Ka Jai which local people pay homage.

Wat Nong Yai
The temple was founded during the Ayutthaya period. At the fall of Ayutthaya, Chao Khun Yai, fled the Burmese troops with families of his guard by boat to Pik Bot Pier (Naklua). He also kept the bell taken from the temple in Ayutthaya, When arrived in Chonburi, he restored the originally abandoned Wat Nong Yai. A prayer hall and belfry were built. The temple was renovated on 3 January 1906.

This temple was constructed in early Rattanakosin, around 1875. It was granted a consecrated boundary in 1888 during the reign of King Rama V Chulalongkorn and named Wat Chong Lom up to present days. The temple was built according to Dhammayuttika Nikaya or Thammayut Nikaya. The temple has an ancient prayer hall, which has been well-preserved and the Hall of Phra Bua Khem, highly revered by local residents.

Wat Sawang Fa Phruetharam

The temple was presumed to have been built in the Ayutthaya Period. The location of the temple is believed to be the place where King Taksin halted his army after fleeing from the Burmese force besieging Ayutthaya. There are twin wooden buildings inside the temple.

Chittapawan Collage

The college was founded by Phrathep Kittipanyakhun to provide education to Buddhist monks both in a secular and dharma worlds at a tertiary level. The monks are taught to be able to propagate Buddhism domestically and internationally. It is also a place where people can practice meditation. The name of the college was bestowed by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

The Bottle Art Museum is the first exhibition of Art in the Bottle in Thailand. Peter Bedelais, the artist, inspiringly created over 300 amazing miniature art placed in bottles. The Sanctuary of Truth (Prasat Satchatham)

Satchatham Temple is a wooden temple, located by the sea. It was designed by Lek Wiriyapan, the founder of the Ancient City at Samut Prakan Province in 1981. The Temple is entirely built with wood. The beauty of the Temple is elaborated through wood dwellings and woodcarvings. It is considered an exotic and imposing architectural work of art of the century, embellishing with artwork and woodcarvings which reflects the intellect and spirit of the Eastern civilization and art. It also reflects the importance of religion which has helped to uphold the world. The Temple received the award of Outstanding Tourist Attraction from the Tourism Industry Awards in 2008.

How to get there: 206/2 Moo5, Naklua Soi 12, Naklua Rd., Banglamung, Chonburi. on Wong Phra Chan Beach, 3 km from North Pattaya. If you are driving from Naklua Rd., turn into Soi 12 and drive towards the end of the Soi where there is a large entrance towards the Temple on the right.

Baan Sukhawadee

Baan Sukhawadee or Eden House is a mansion built in 2000 covering the area of 80 rai and 400 metres long along the beach. The house was built in Romanesque architecture painted in pink and light blue. There are European and Asian sculptures inside the mansion and in the garden including standing Buddha image, King Taksin the Great, H.R.H. Prince Abhakorn, Krom Luang Chumporn Khet Udomsak and Goddess of Mercy. The mansion is owned by Dr. Panya Chotethevan,a well-known businessman in food industry in Thailand.

The temple is located in the heart of South Pattaya area. It has a prayer hall housing Chinarat Buddha image and Chai Mongkhon Buddha image from the Sukhothai Period, aged more than 350 years. It also features the Hall of 3-era Buddha, a pagoda built of ores from Ko Lan, a prayer hall housing a large Buddha of 49 inches lap and 160 inches high. The hall is adorned with mural paintings. This temple was once called Wat Thap Phraya. The temple was constructed around 1937. After a monk on pilgrimage arrived and put up a tent in the area, local people then built residences and other religious structures until it became a temple.

Chaloerm Phra Kiat Park is a small public park covering the area of 15 rai. It was built to commemorate His Majesty the King’s 60th birthday on 5 December 1988. Adorned with flowers, the park was designed for residents to take a rest and relax. It also has a multipurpose plaza and some exercise facilities on the ground. There are small paths for leisurely strolling or jogging along the hill line.

How to get there: The park is located at the foot of Phra Bat Hill (Pattaya Hill), Phratamnak Rd., between South Pattaya and Jomtien Beach.

 

Wat Phra Yai
Constructed in 1977, Wat Phra Yai houses the golden Buddha image of Phra Buddha Sukhothai Walai Chonlathan or Luang Pho Yai in Subduing Mara gesture. The image is approximately 18 meters high. The stairways feature Naga. There are also 7 Buddha images of the day on the temple ground.

Wat Khao Phra Bat or Wat Khao Phratamnak is located on Khao Phratamnak. It lies opposite to the viewpoint on the hill. There is a imitation of the Buddha's footprint, Buddha images of the Day and beautiful mondop. The Monument of the Father of modern Thai Navy, Krom Luang Chumphon Khet Udomsak is within a short walk.

How to get there: Located on top of Phratamnak Hill, Nongprue, Amphur Banglamung. From Sukhumvit Rd., turn right at the road sign to South Pattaya. Turn left at the first traffic light, continue until reaching a-5-way intersection. Turn left to Phratamnak Rd. and turn right again towards Royal Cliff Beach Garden Resort. Drive uphill to the top of the hill.

Wang Sam Sien

Wang Sam Sien is located amongst a verdant surrounding with a panoramic view of Pattaya city. It is a home of a large statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva which is situated in the middle of the pool. The premise also exhibits other sculptures and miniatures of significant and figures in Chinese history.

Phratumnak Hill is located at the border of South Pattaya and Jomtien. The top of the hill is one of the best viewpoint overlooking the crescent bay of Pattaya. It is a popular spot amongst the tourists, especially at the sunset and at night when the city is lit up. Wat Khao Phra Bat, the Monument of Kromluang Chomphonkhetudomsak, the founding Father of modern Thai Navy, Phra Phut Sukhothai Cholatan, Buddha image in Subduing Mara gesture and Thai Navy's radio station are also located on the hilltop. At the foot of the hill, there is a public park. TAT office is also located nearby.

How to get there: From Sukhumvit Rd., turn right at the road sign to South Pattaya. Turn left at the first traffic light, continue until reaching a-5-way intersection. Turn left to Phratamnak Rd. and turn right again towards Royal Cliff Beach Garden Resort. Drive uphill. There is a parking lot catering up to 40 - 50 cars.

The temple is situated approximately 12 km south of Pattaya City. It was built 1976 on the purpose of paying respect Somdet Phra Yanasangwon, the present Supreme Patriarch and is now under the patronage of His Majesty the King. The architecture of the temple is noted for its elegant and modern Thai style within peaceful surroundings.

Within the ground, there are a mondop (pavilion with four gables) with a replica of the Buddha's footprints, a large stupa with the relics of the Lord Buddha and his disciples, Phra Yanaret Vihan as well as international pavilions representing the architecture of several countries. Nearby, there is also a Chinese-style building housing antiques and art objects from China. Various types of meditation courses are available from 6 am. - 6 pm.
How to get there: Located 12 km south of Pattaya and 3 km from Nong Nooch Tropical Garden. It can be reached by turning left from Sukhumvit Rd. at km 160 marker.

Wang Saen Suk or Wang Saen Suk Hell Garden features religious sculptures on the area of 32 rai, featuring large and small ghastly figures displaying the suffering and punishment received after death from doing bad deeds. It was built by the Venerable Phothisatto Foundation as reminders for people to keep high moral standards and the faith in the Lord Buddha’s law of cause and effect. on the other side, the Land of Buddhism features the Lord Buddha at birth, attaining enlightenment and death. There is a literature zone featuring Phra Abhai Mani, the masterpiece story of Soonthorn Phu, a great poet in the reign of Rattanakosin. There are also figures of deities in other religions.

Wihan Thep Sathit Phra Kitti Chaloem or Nacha Sa Thai Chue Shrine

The Najasathaichue Chinese Temple was built in 1991 on an original area of 200 square wa, by Master Somchai Choeisiri. In 1996, he built a large Chinese temple in honor of His Majesty the King on his 72nd Anniversary. The name, Thep Sathit Phra Kiti Chaloem was given by His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch which means the abode of gods. The 4-storey temple is designed and elaborately decorated with Chinese art and design. There are 2,840 scultures of dragon. In front of the building, the hall of Heaven and Earth, with the 36-metre dragon pole with 9 dragons representing the 9 planets.

How to get there: 1/13 Moo 5, Ang Sila - Bangsaen Rd., Ang Sila, Muang, Chonburi. From Sukhumvit Rd., turn right into Ang Sila Rd., at the Old Market Ang Sila intersection, turn left to Ang Sila-Bangsaen Rd. The temple is on the left.

Wat Ang Sila
Built in late Ayutthaya Period, around 1700, Ang Sila Temple was originally comprised of twin prayer halls opr Bots, Inner Hall (Wat Ang Nai) and Outer Hall (Wat Ang Nok). They were merged into one temple in King Rama V Chulalongkorn. There are older murals and a group of pagodas standing in front of the Bot. The Outer Bot features murals from the Third Reign, by painters from Wat Sam Pluem in 1825. It features the life story of the Lord Buddha in red, black and indigo, with inscriptions in ancient Khmer and Thai. The temple has been registered by the Fine Arts Department as archeological sites.

How to get there: On Highway No.3134, Moo 4, Ang Sila, Muang, Chonburi. From Sukhumvit Rd., turn right into Ang Sila, go straight before the intersection to the old Ang Sila market. The temple is on the left.

The temple was first built in 1831 with brick and high wall without any standing post and the roofs had 2 layers overlapped each other. The gable displays stucco. Chinese ceramic from Ching dynasty were used as a model to decorate the temple. The interior murals, painted in bright and contrast colours by local people display the local tradition. The Fine Arts Department renovated and registered the temple as ancient monument in 1997.

How to get there: 71 Moo 1, Saen Suk, Muang, Pattaya, Chonburi (Approximately 10 km from Chonburi town). From Sukhumvit Rd., turn right at km 104 marker at Galaxy intersection to entrance to Bangsaen. Stay on the right and turn right to the soi and continue about 200 m.

 

Wat Rajsattha (Taidon)

Wat Rajsattha is believed to be founded 155 years ago. An antique head of the Buddha was found in the underground in this area. The 100-year-old bot situated on the ground of the temple has been well-preserved. A new bot which was built later is regarded the biggest temple in the Eastern region. The windonws and the doors were delicately carved and filled with pearl.

Wat Jangchareondon
Its original name was Wat Krangdon, constructed in 1867. The old bot of the temple is more than 100 years old which has been renovated as well as the gable of the bot embellished with flower pattern which is decorated with ceramic pottery. The art represents the early period of Rattankosin. There is also a Buddha image built with Rattankosin art inside the bot.

The Viharn of Goddess Guanyin
Standing predominantly, a huge sculpture of the Goddess Guanyin is situated on the top of the viharn, facing the sea. Underneath, there is a big hall housing a smaller sculpture of the Goddess. The paintings of the Bodhisattva Guanyin in 37 different lives, located near the Hall of the Hermit, invites visitors to discover.

How to get there: Located in the west side of Khao Sam Muk, next to the Hall of the Hermit

The Royal Residences of the Great King and the Great Queen

The Royal Residences were built in the reign of King Mongkut, Rama IV, under the name of "Asai Sathan - the Residences" used as convalescent home, regarded as the first vacation homes of the country. There are two buildings. The large one is in white and the smaller one is in red. In the following reign, Queen Saovabha had the buildings renovated and named the white building "Maharaj Building" and the red one "Rajini Building". Both buildings were registered by the Fine Arts Department as archeological sites on 14 October 1996.

How to get there: Located next to Ang Sila Fish Market. From Sukhumvit Rd., take the left turn into Ang Sila, the royal residences are on the right.

 

Khao Sam Muk, the Shrine of Chao Mae Khao Sam Muk

Khao Sam Muk is a small hill, situated between Ang Sila and Bangsaen Beach. The foot of the hill is also the home of the holy shrine of Chao Mae Sam Muk. It is where the locals visit to commemorate the legend of the lovers who ended their lives tragically after vowing their eternal love for each other in 18th century. The shrine is accessible by mountain road. A spectacular panoramic view can be appreciated on the hilltop as well as the view of the Ang Sila Bay, Laem Thaen Bay and Bang Saen Bay. on a clear day, Ko Sichang and the town of Siracha can also be seen. The spot is one of the best places to watch the sunset. The area is also inhabited by a number of wild monkeys and a beautiful cactus garden.

How to get there: At Sam Muk Hill. From Ang Sila, follow Highway 3134 towards Bangsaen, take the right turn at Bangsaen Sai 1st Rd. for 50 meters. Turn right again to enter the road circling Khao Sam Muk Drive, along the road you will find the entrance to Khao Sam Muk Shrine.

Mangrove & Flying Foxes
As the major food source and habitat and breeding ground for marine animals, this mangrove, located along the coastline, is an important habitat for over 10,000 flying foxes or fruit bats. At the daytime, visitors will find them hanging upside down on the plants. They take flight to find food at around 06.00 pm. – 07.00 pm. and come back around 04.00 am. There is a walking path heading into the mangrove.

How to get there: Located approximately 100 m from Ang Sila Market. From Sukhumvit Rd., turn left into Ang Sila, going straight to the curve, and turn right before reaching the fish market to reach the market.
Ang Sila Oyster Farm

Visitors can learn how the farmers breed and nurture oysters and green mussels. The oysters (Saccostrea) are raised in bunches hung under bamboo scaffolds, while the green mussels are attached to poles in the sea. There is a 10-kilometre walking bridge projecting out in the sea.

How to get there: From the km 102 marker on Sukhumvit Rd., turn right at Angsila Junction or the highway 3134, there is rock sculpture. Continue about 1 km, you will find Angsila Community.

 

Bangsaen Institute of Marine Science

Bangsaen Institute of Marine Science as known as as Bangsaen Institute of Marine Science (BIMS) is a part of Burapha University. It has been developed from the aquatic museum and breeding centre to marine science institute and museum thanks to the fund from Japanese government. The museum is divided into 3 parts: Marine Aquarium, Marine Science Museum and Marine Science Laboratories. There are breeding pond, aquarium with a large collection of fish, crustaceans and marine plants, mostly from Thailand. There are also exhibitions of fishery tools in the exhibition hall.

How to get there: 169 Long-had Bangsaen Rd., Saen Suk, Muang, Chonburi. The Institute lies within Burapha University.
From Sukhumvit Rd., drive northwards through Sriracha, pass Nongmon town, turn left at the first traffic light and continue for 3 km. The entrance to Burapha Univerity is on the left.

The topography of Ang Sila is a stone basin, comprising granite and sandstone. The residents have learned to make the use of it for decades by making mortar which becomes the famous local product as the stone here is solid and durable after times. In addition, it is also used in making sculptures such as Goddess Kuanyin and Buddha images.

How to get there: From Sukhumvit Rd., turn right into Ang Sila. There are a line of hundreds of shops selling stone mortar on both sides of the road.

1,500-rai Nong Nooch Garden features tropical plants from all over the world and it has the largest variety of orchids in Thailand. The garden designs and landscape art of different countries are featured including French Garden, Pineapple garden, Butterfly Garden, Cactus Garden, Topiary Garden and Stonehenge Garden. The botanical species are various such as heliconia and zingiberales, cactus, palm, rhapis and creepers and climbers. A skywalk allows visitors to view the gardens from above. There is also a mini zoo, Thai cultural performances, elephant show. They also hold special events and activities.

How to get there: 34/1 Moo 7, Na Jomtien, Sattahip, Pattaya, Chonburi 20250. It is located 18 km from the entrance to South Pattaya, turn left from Sukhumvit Rd. at km 163 marker, continue about 3.5 km.

Three Kingdom Theme Park (Sam Kok)

The Three Kingdoms Garden was built in 1995 by Mr. Kiat Srifuangfung. the park is built on 136 rai. The park boasts the distinctive applied Chinese-Thai architecture and landscape architecture. The buildings were constructed based on Chinese Feng Shui. The wooden patio and the delicately painted veranda displays Sam Kok epic. The founding of the park aims to allow people to understand and appreciate Buddhism, Thai and Chinese culture and philosophy.

How to get there: 100 Moo 9, Sukhumvit Rd., Pong, Banglamung, Chonburi 20150. From Sukhumvit Rd, turn left at Soi Mae La Pla Phao, before central Pattaya, take Soi Pornprapa Nimit or Siam Country Club intersection, continue 13 km. After the Map Prachan Reservoir, go further for 500 m. It is located in the same area as Horse Shoe Point Club.

Wat Suthawat

Located in Ban Maap Yai Lia, Wat Suthawat was established in 1925. The temple consists of the Hall of Phra Si Rattana Trai Yannaphop or Luang Pho To which is highly revered by the locals. The prayer hall features murals illustrating Lord Buddha’s life story as well as the portrait of Phra Khu Wichit Thammasan, the founder of this hall. There are Dharma school for monks and a nursery on the ground of the temple.

Anek Kuson Sala or Wihan Sian was built in 1987 to commemorate His Majesty the King's 60th Anniversary. The place houses high-class Chinese architecture and fine art. In front of the large building, there are stone sculptures of animals in Chinese mythology, the figures of 8 saints or Sian, 12 zodiac signs and a pair of stone Peking lion which are 3.5 meters high and weigh 22 tons. Inside the hall, there are an ancient Chinese art objects including the Goddess Kuanyin in white jade, the figures of soldiers and horses from the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor, the Emperor's golden throne, old paintings, and ceramics. The second floor contains the figure of one of the 8 saints in Taoism. on the terrace, 18 gestures of Shaolin saints as well as the sculptures of Chinese's lifestyle and culture.

How to get there: Before reaching Wat Yansangvararam, on Sukhumvit Rd. from Bangkok direction, take the left turn at km 160 marker which goes towards Wat Yansangvararam, turn right and continue about 5 km. There is a direction sign indicating a left turn to Wihan Sian.

On the area of 32 acres, the entire project includes hexa stage theatre, cultural rostrum and a restaurant of 1,000 seats. There are performances of Thai culture to tourists from all walks of life. It features state-of-art sound system, pyrotechnic, multi-dimentional coloured laser system and decorated in lavish traditional Thai style. The performances include 9 sets of imaginarily historical performances in different periods such as the origin of the world, the stone age, the Sukhothai period, the Ayutthaya period, the Rattanakosin period. Thai games, Thai martial arts and combat skills such as Thai boxing, sword fighting are also presented. The performances are presented with the state-of-art techniquue instead of the traditional style which makes this theatre different from others. The theatre can cater up to 2,000 guests.

Khao Chi Chan

Chi Chan is a limestone hill, once used for construction industry. His Holiness Somdet Phra Nyanasamvara, the Supreme Patriarch initiated the world’s largest carved stone Buddha to commemorate the 50th anniversary of His Majesty the King’s Accession in 1996. The Buddha outline was edged by laser beam, then filled with gold mosaic. The image is 130 metres high. His Majesty granted the name as "Phra Phuttha Maha Wachira Uttamobhas Sassada", meaning "the Buddha with brightness and sublimity". The figure sparkles like the golden halo as the sun shines.

How to get there: Located at Ban Khao Chi Chan, Sattahip, Chonburi. From Sukhumvit Rd. from Bangkok direction, take the left turn at km 160 marker which goes towards Wat Yansangvararam, turn right and continue about 5 km. There is a direction sign indicating a left turn to Wihan Sian. Pass the Winhan Sian, continue 3 km from the there.

 

HTMS Chakri Naruebet
Chakri Naruebet, the Glory of the Chakri Dynasty named by His Majesty the King, this largest war ship in the Royal Thai Navy was built in Spain and arrived in Thailand in 1997. The ship is 182.6 meters long and 30.5 meters wide. The ship has been deployed in disaster relief, patrol and force protection around Thailand's coastline and protect marine environment. In wartime, this flagship of the fleet controls and commands the fleet in the sea as well as the aircraft carrier with modern weapons, including remote radar patrol system for air defense mission. It serves as part-time tourist attraction.

How to get there: Docked at Chuk Samet Deep Sea Port. From Sattahip downtown, take Sukhumvit Rd. for about 6 km to the main intersection with the direction sign pointing to the port. Turn right into Highway 3126 and continue 2 km further. Turn right at the intersection and continue 5 km further. the road will lead to the Navy checkpoint. The port lies straight ahead.
