Bangkok Apartments and Hotels on and near to Sukhumvit Road

Many like the Sukhumvit area but I think some may be disappointed if their hotel is there. Click here to help you decide whether or not Sukhumvit is a place in Bangkok you'd like to stay.

Many of the Bangkok apartments and hotels below are liable to change their prices....see the linked websites for up to date prices. All the hotels come with air-con, TV and hot water private bathroom, unless mentioned. If I don't write too much about a hotel, it most probably means the hotel wasn't that memorable (in my eyes!), or I didn't see the rooms, which I'll say.

Match the numbers on the map with the hotels/guesthouses below.

If you want to see the map below larger and better quality and/or to print the map, visit this page. (opens in new window)

For the best quality printing, make sure you save it to your computer and print, rather than printing straight from the internet.

I haven't included my Navbar on this page, so that you can see the map larger. Click here to see my page about Bangkok, where you'll also be able to see other accommodation options.

To find this area, have a look at this hand-drawn Bangkok map. Look towards the bottom right of the map. You should see Sukhumvit Road and Benjakiti Lake and Park easily.

I've included a STAR RATING for the accommodation, from 1 to 5 STARS.

5 STARS is EXCELLENT

1 STAR is NOT GOOD

How did I decide what star rating to give?

  • Value for money. This is relation to other Bangkok apartments and hotels in the area.

  • How the rooms and hotel looks and also the feel of the hotel and its location.

Sukhumvit - Will You Like It?

Reasons you might like Sukhumvit:

  • There are lots of bars, some of them 'lady bars'.

  • The area is very lively - there's lots of people about, especially at night.

  • There are lots of Western style restaurants, as well as Thai and food from other areas like the Middle-East and India.

  • The Siam shopping area is nearby.

  • The skytrain can get you to many parts of the city quickly.

Reasons you might NOT like Sukhumvit:

  • There are many bars - some parts, particularly the hotels on Sukhumvit Soi 4 and Soi 8 are perhaps not the best environment for children....

  • It can be noisy, particularly on Sukhumvit Road itself. once down most of the many streets off of Sukhumvit Road, it's much less noisy.

  • Restaurants tend to be expensive, as are the hotels compared with the Khao San / Sam Sen Road area.

  • It's a long way (about 5 kilometers) from the Grand Palace, the river and many of Bangkok's attractions

  • The skytrain stretches all along Sukhumvit Road and is ugly and noisy.
