Nikita's
Nikita's has recently transformed from a beach bar/restaurant to a full-on restaurant and the result has been an upsurge in its popularity. With a wood-fired pizza oven and spanking fresh Thai and international food along with a truly seductive beachside location, Nikita's is an experience in itself. Try a sunset cocktail here and linger for the evening - it's light years from crowded and expensive Patong.
Opening Hours: 10:00 - lateLocation: Near Rawai Pier beachside
Type : Thai and international

Sala Loi
On the sea side of the beach road you will see a cluster of cement/porcelain tables and chairs but no restaurant. What's going on? Well, the kitchen serving diners here is actually on the other side of the road! They should have called it 'A Road Runs through It' but its real name is Sala Loi. The beachside dining theme is reproduced in kind further along the beach towards the west except without tables and chairs: diners sit on mats placed on the beach and eat off short-legged tables under the causarina trees. It's all very rustic, very charming and the food is good, too – mostly barbecued fish and chicken with glutinous rice and fresh veggies.
Location: Near Nikita’s Bar at the beginning of Rawai Beach Road
Tel: Thai and seafood
Nong Pim Restaurant
Rawai Beach is packed with many small and inexpensive restaurants serving similar types of Thai food. Nong Pim is a good example and offers delicious seafood and items like grilled chicken, spicy beef salad as well as som tam (spicy papaya salad). From time to time you might get a hold of some special delicacies such as spicy horseshoe crab’s egg salad. In the past, customers enjoyed these on the beach but this is not the case any more. All the restaurants have been relocated down the road but are still facing the water with Rawai’s unique atmosphere as background (think of all those colourful long-tail boats moored along the beach with beautiful casuarinas trees providing shade). As for the spiciness department, you can always ask the cook to tune it down a bit so that you can really enjoy the food.
Location: Nong Pim has two branches located not far from each other at about the middle of the Beach Road
Cuisine: Thai and seafood
Mando Steakhouse
Mando is located right next to Rawai Beach Resort on the Beach Road. As the name suggests, their main offering is steaks of all kinds. Still, their menu features some well-known Thai dishes too, such as tom yum goong and massaman gai. You can start with an aperitif at the lovely bar next door which is also a part of Mando before moving to the steakhouse for an enjoyable dinner. Prices are more expensive than the rest of beachfront dining venues but still are affordable.

To find it, pass Soi Saliga on the left-hand side of Viset Road in Rawai just before the Evason Resort and Seashell Museum and continue south, looking for the signage that says ‘Kanoi Cape’ then turn left and drive as far as the road will take you ... and it will take you quite a distance. The quaint, isolated seaside setting is the starting point for an enjoyable evening's dining.

Norbu's Steakhouse
With an interesting interior with strong colour use, big Roman columns and lot of chandeliers, it is hard to believe that this restaurant is actually located in Phuket. But when it comes to steak, Norbu’s is definitely one of the best places to go on the island. Their menu also consists of Thai and many European dishes as well as a good wine list.

Into the Sea
For fine dining in a fantastic setting you’d have to look a long way to beat Into the Sea at Evason Resort & Spa. Into the Sea is an open-sided restaurant with a terrace overlooking nearby Lone Island and on a moonlit night it’s got to be the most romantic place in the south of Phuket. The food is fabulously innovative, the wine list highly professional and the wait staff impeccable. Incredibly Into the Sea has recently lowered its prices so is much more accessible - but please note that the wine list here is still as expensive as before. A truly memorable dining experience.
