* 최근 방콕시내에서 미터택시를 탈 때에는 미터택시비가 오른 줄 몰랐습니다. 방콕시내는 보통 주행거리가 10킬로미터 이내이기 때문에 택시비의 상승을 알 수가 없습니다. 그러나 수완나품공항- 방콕 수쿰빗을 몇번오가면서 느낀 것은 요금이 작년대비 올랐다는 것입니다. 과거에는 수완나품공항- 수쿰빗 지역의 미터택시비는 대략 200밧정도였습니다. 지금은 240밧 전후가 나옵니다. 이와관련 한국 여행정보사이트에서는 관련글들을  찾아보기 어렵습니다. 결국 영문구글로 조사하는 과정에서 방콕 미터택시비가 2014년 12월 14일부터 올랐다는 것을 찾아 내었습니다. *2015년 7월부터 방콕미터택시 요금은 다시 5% 상승합니다.

Taxi fares go up in Bangkok Saturday/토요일 방콕 택시비는 오른다.

Starting today, passengers will have to pay higher taxi fares in the Bangkok area, with the Transport Ministry approving an increase of 8%, later rising to 13%./ 교통부 장관은 8% 상승을, 나중에는 13% 상승을 승인했기 때문에, 오늘부터 시작해 승객들은 방콕 지역에서 상승한 택시비를 지불해야 한다.

The 35-baht flagfall remains unchanged. 택시 시작요금 35밧은 그대로이다.                                 

Fare meters must be officially adjusted before the driver can charge the new rates.

택시요금은 공식적으로 택시 운전사가 새로운 요금으로 변경하기전에 조정된다.                                  

The rise was originally scheduled to take effect on Dec 1, but was postponed to Dec 13 because 85% of cabs were required to pass inspection at the Land Transport Ministry. 원래 택시요금은 12월 1일부터 효력을 발휘하기로 예정되어 있으나 택시의 85%가 육상교통부의 검사를 통과해야 하기 때문에 지연되었다.                                  

Transport Minister Prajin Juntong signed an order on Dec 4 voiding the June 18, 2008 announcement on taxi-meter  fares, and approved the hike. Fares for cabs carrying up to seven passengers are increased to reflect actual costs. 육상교통부장관 프라친 준통(Prajin Juntong )은 2008년 6월 18일 발표한 공표를 무효화 시키는 12월 4일 명령에 서명했고, 인상을 승인했다.

7인을 태울 수 있는 택시들의 요금은 실제비용을 반영해서 올려받는다.

There are two phases of the increase. 요금상승에는 두개의 단계가 있다.                                  

In the first six months, starting on Saturday, the rise is limited to 8%. 토요일부터 시작해 처음 6개월은 8%로 제한한다.

 After this period, the ministry will allow for increases to a maximum of 13% above the current fare after taxi services are further evaluated. 이후 교통부는 택시서비스가 나아졌다고 평가한 후  최대 현재요금의 13%  까지 올릴 수 있도록 허락할 것이다.                                 

The distance calculated for the new fares was reduced to every 10 kilometres, from 12 kilometres.  The flagfall and the first kilometre is capped at the same rate of 35 baht. 새로운 택시요금은 거리에 따라 산정되어지는데 과거 12킬로미에서 10킬로미터로 줄어들었다. 택시비 시작요금과 첫번째 킬로미터 요금은 예전과 마찬가지로 35밧이다.                                 

Under the new rate, taxi fares are 35 baht for 0-1 km, 5.50 baht for each of the next 10 kilometres, 6.50 baht each for the 10th to 20th kilometres, 7.50 baht each for the 20th to 40th kilometres, 8 baht each for the 40th to 60th kilometres, 9 baht each for the 60th to 80th kilometres and 10.50 baht each above 80  kilometres.

새로운 요금하에서, 0~1킬로미터까지는 35밧, 다음 10킬로미터까지는 매킬로미터마다 5.50밧, 10킬로미터에서 20킬로미터까지는 매킬로미터마다 6.50밧, 20킬로미터에서 40킬로미터까지는 7.50밧, 40킬로미터에서 60킬로미터까지는 9밧, 80킬로미터이상은 10.50밧이다.                                

In the event a taxi is caught in a traffic jam and is forced to stop or move at less  than 6 kilometres per hour, there is an increase of 50 satang from the previous 1.50 baht to 2 baht per minute. 교통체증시에 택시를 잡아 시간당 6킬로미터이내 가다서다를 할 경우, 분당 과거 1.50밧에서 2밧으로 변경되어 50사탕 올랐다.                                   

Passengers will have to pay a surcharge of 20 baht if they use taxi services from a call centre, and a 50 baht surcharge when catching a cab at designated areas at Don Mueang Airport or Suvarnabhumi Airport. 승객들은 골센터를 통해 택시를 이용할 경우 20밧 추가요금을 내야하며, 돈무앙공항이나 수완나품공항에서 택시를 잡을 경우 추가요금 50밧을 지불해야 한다.                            

Jirut Wisarnjit, deputy chief of the Department of Land Transport, confirmed the fare hike had been published in the Royal Gazette and was effective from Dec 13.  교통육상부 국장 지랏위사닛(  Jirut Wisarnjit )은 요금상승은 관보에 발표될 것이며, 12월 13일부터 효력을 발휘한다고 승인했다.

However, taxis would not be able to charge the new fares until their meters were adjusted and certified by the department.

그러나 택시는 미터택시기를 교통부에서 조정해서 인증할 때까지 새로운 요금으로 바꿀 수 없다.                                    

This would happen gradually over the next week  and all cabs would be using the higher fares from Dec 20, said Mr Jirut.

The department is issuing stickers to taxis that pass the tests, he said 다음주부터 이것(요금상승)은 점차적으로 일어날 것이며, 모든 택시 운전사들은 12월 20일부터 올라간 요금을 사용할 것이다라고 Jirut.은 말했다.
