농녹빌리지/Nong Nooch Tropical Garden

"Suan Nong Nooch" (pronounced "noot"), some fifteen kilometers south of Pattaya on Sukhumvit Road, started off as a traditional fruit plantation in 1954 and was designed on 1500 rai/ 600 acres of land. However, inspired by the beauty of world-renowned gardens abroad, it was redesigned as a
tropical garden of ornamental flowers and plants, initially meant for botanical observation.
In 1980, the garden was opened to the public and turnt into one of Pattaya's most popular tourist attractions.
Apart from the
biggest botanical garden in Southeast Asia, Nong Nooch garden features a variety of attractions like elephant riding (surcharge 400 Baht/ person), an exotic zoo, animal shows and a fascinating Thai cultural show
with dance performances and "Muay Thai" demonstrations.
The highlight of every visit, however, is probably the truly amazing
Elephant show
that is great fun for spectators and performers alike, it seems. You can watch the jumbos play a game of football, basketball, bowling and darts. Some elephants turn out to be real hobby artists and paint images with their trunks, while others have specialized in a special kind of foot massage. Most amazing, though, is that this entertaining show doesn't only provide great fun for the audience - but that the impressively skilled and specially-trained elephants seem to enjoy the show performance and the various challenges themselves, and display a great sense of humour and ambition!
입장료/Entry fee 400 Baht 외국인, 200 Baht 내국인.

코란/산호섬/Koh Larn/ Coral Island

If you've come to Thailand for white-sand tropical beaches and diving in crystal-clear waters, and are somewhat disappointed by Pattaya's rather mediocre, noisy and overcrowded beaches, then a day trip to Koh Larn (aka "Coral Island") provides anything you've come here looking for.
Koh Larn has six popular beaches, all with
fine white sand and unpolluted waters, where you can enjoy sunbathing in a picturesque tropical environment. Although Koh Larn has turnt increasingly touristy in recent years and has become exceedingly popular with noisy East Asian day-trippers, who overcrowd the beautiful beaches and restaurants especially during high season, it's still your best option for a relaxed day at the beach.
Various
water/underwater activities
like banana boat and jet-ski rides, scuba diving, snorkelling or submarine rides, are available around Koh Larn. Overnight stays in bungalows are possible, too.

For
getting to Koh Larn
, you can book fully arranged day-trips via any travel agency in Pattaya for approx. 500 to 600 Baht, which price includes minibus collection from your hotel, ferry, lunch and soft drinks.

A cheaper yet slower alternative is to board one the
regular ferries departing from 'Bali Hai' Pier
at the southern end of Walking Street. 편도 20 Baht/1인당 and 30-45분 소요
Speedboats
can be chartered from anywhere along Pattaya beach and Jomtien beach; expect to pay between 1500 and 2500 Baht. Smaller and less tourist-oriented islands (Koh Phai, Koh Sak, Koh Khrok) can be reached from either the mainland beaches or Koh Larn.

파타야 파크/Pattaya Park (Tower & Water Park)

코사멧섬/Koh Samet Island

If Pattaya and Jomtien beach fail to satisfy your desire for a tranquil and relaxing beach vacation, Koh Chang is too far away for you, and a day-trip to Koh Larn was just long enough to give you a taste of what a tropical beach in Thailand can be like, then Koh Samet might be just the place to go for you. With a length of 7km and a maximum width of 3km, this T-shaped island isn't popular only with Bangkokians, but also a favourite tour destination for Pattaya tourists.
Samet island is located just 7km offshore the fishing village of
Ban Phe in Rayong province.
Ban Phe
can be reached from Pattaya in about 90 minutes
(minibus transfer recommended, can be booked at many travel agencies). Ferries to Koh Samet leave regularly from Ban Phe pier (the crossing takes around 30-45 minutes).
As Koh Samet is a
Marine National Park, visitors have to pay an entry fee
upon arrival: 외국인/ 400 Baht ,내국인 /40 Baht

Most visitors from Bangkok and Pattaya - with its overcrowded, noisy and commercial beaches - esteem Samet island as a tranquil retreat with
picturesque white sand beaches and crystal-clear shallow waters
. Those, who seek more challenging activities than just sunbathing and swimming, can enjoy a boat trip around the island, deep sea fishing, scuba diving, snorkelling for coral in the shallow waters, or hiking in the tropical back-country.
Excellent seafood and barbecue restaurants can be found right at the seafront along the beaches at the east coach, and provide a perfect scenery for romantic sunset dinners.
Koh Samet is still very much a natural resort with no proper roads being constructed yet and just a track and footpaths around the island's coastline. Except from 24h electricity and running water available now, a couple of minimarts and souvenir shops, the island's's infrastructure is not really developed yet. Even though it is no longer an undeveloped backpacker's paradise with cheap and shabby huts at deserted palm-lined beaches, Koh Samet still resembles what most tourists may probably expect of a tropical paradise island.
Day trips to Koh Samet can be booked at most travel agencies, but it is highly recommended to stay at least for one night in order to fully recover from Pattaya's exhausting nightlife! Most of the
accommodation
consists of bungalow developments found along the beaches on the East coast (Hat Sai Kaew, Ao Phai, Vongduan Beach etc.) with room standards and prices varying between low/budget and first class.

카오끼우 오픈주/Khao Kheow Open Zoo

Approx. 35 kilometres north of Pattaya near Chonburi city, the Khao Kheow Open Zoo may be a bit far off but is definitely worth a visit. As the name says, Khao Kheow is an
open zoo on a huge 1,200 acres parkland area, where animals can roam freely, and the atmosphere resembles much rather a safari experience than a traditional zoo, where the animals are held in cages.
Khao Kheow features around
8,000 animals of 300 different species
- including tigers, elephants, monkeys, kangaroos, elephants etc. - and may be described as a "wildlife bank" as many of the featured animals are on the list of endangered species.
Other
attractions
include elephant trekking, animal shows and a special "Night Safari".
Because of the immense size of the zoo, having one's own vehicle is most convenient for getting around. Otherwise, you can use the auto tram or rent a bicycle. Accomodation available, too.
Khao Kheow is sponsored by Queen Sirikit of Thailand - so unlike other strictly commercial zoos or theme parks, Khao Kheow 입장료 50밧.
